Has the wrath of God got you yet?!

Watch this week’s Expression of Grace video with Pieter Swart as he talks about the The Wrath of God:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:16-18).

The first part of Romans 1:16-18, tells us that we were made righteous, but the last part seems to condemn us! Let’s look at what the Bible says about the wrath of God.

“Because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression” (Romans 4: 15). The Bible is very clear; it is the Law that works wrath. Where there is no Law, there is no wrath. Jesus was the end of the Law (Romans 10:4). The wrath of God is against those who reject the Message of Grace and continue to preach the Law.

“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets” (Romans 3:21).

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9). This is the Gospel! No wrath can come on us because we are not under the Law! The blood of Jesus Christ has justified us.
